Folk Singing
In January 2010 I joined Newport Folk Club which for some years had met upstairs at the Lyceum Tavern in Malpas. A decision by the committee resulted in the club moving to the Fugitives Cricket Club in High Cross, Newport, where parking and access are much better. However, there is still a folk club -now called The Lyceum Folk Club, meeting at the Lyceum Tavern. I am a regular performer at both clubs and more recently have provided the entertainment at a number of fund raising evnts in the Newport area.

Sally Wheatley [4] is a music hall song from the north east of England by Jo Wilson, which I learned from Bob Fox. Go And Catch a Falling Star [5] is a poem by the metaphysical poet and seventeenth century cleric, John Donne, set to a tune by Leon Rosseleon. Slow Train [6] is one of my all time favourite songs by Flanders and Swann. I just had to learn John Conolly's Out of Season [7] after hearing it sung by Miranda Sykes when she was a guest at Newport Folk Club.
